a love letter to "Art"

Did you hear?
Did you hear about the farmer?
He envisioned a field of bountifulness
A field where his crops grew plenty
And bore fruits in its fullness
Ah! Harvest time, blessing time
But wait,
Something is not right
There is not even one crop in sight
Don’t understand
There are no fruits on the farmer’s land
How could this be?
Everyone around him was blessed
For they were reaping
But the farmer seemed to be cursed
So he was weeping.
Then he sat down and thought
Ah, I know why I did not succeed
I never planted anything
Never planted not even a single seed.
What he came to realise is this simple thing
You have to invest, if you want to harvest.

Did you hear about the farmer?
Five, six, seven
He envisioned a life with Christ
On earth and in heaven
Where he walked the streets of gold
And in his heart, praises he hold
But wait,
Something is not right
Not a single scripture, not a single prayer
Far from God but yet oh so near
No “Father I’m sorry, please forgive me,
I repent, Holy Spirit come live in me”
He beareth no Fruit, of the Spirit
Though he longed and wished for it.
What he came to realise is this simple thing
You can’t get anything out
If you don’t put anything in.

The harvest is plenty
But the labourers are few
Don’t let the farmer in this story
Be you!
